We dedicated a full range day to trying out and evaluating more than 20 different 2011 platforms. From Staccato, Alpha American, Race City, Sig Sauer, Wilson Combat, Atlas, and more, each pistol represents the top tier of some well known modern performance handguns.

While every platform delivered high-level capability, each brought its own approach to ergonomics, recoil management, trigger characteristics, and overall shooter preference.

In this breakdown, we highlight what stood out immediately, where subtle design and build choices translated into real-world performance differences, and how each platform held up when variables were controlled and expectations were high. The side by side format exposes strengths, tradeoffs, and details that are often overlooked but matter when performance is the priority.

This isn’t about hype. It’s about performance, preference, and application. What actually matters when the gun is in the shooter’s hands.
