In Cordelia Gartside’s songs, faces move behind glass, doors open on endless corridors, a brain tries to understand itself. They carry the tension of a Lynch scene: the quiet, then the collapse. With her band, Gartside builds atmosphere out of reverb, distortion and groaning guitars, her voice cutting through it, or breaking inside it. Her sharp lyrics and hypnotic delivery make the quiet as arresting as the noise.

After self-releasing a handful of tracks, Gartside is emerging as a standout in alternative rock, driven by hypnotic live shows across southern England. She now enters a new chapter with upcoming singles, beginning with “What The Heart Wants” (May 6), alongside shows at The Great Escape and Sound City. With each single used as a moment to deepen the world she’s building, Cordelia and her following continue to grow release by release.
