Leontes, King of Sicily - The Awakening Man.
This short video shares the creation process
of a unique dance by the title of "Leontes”,
which will premiere in January 2015 in New York City.
In this short video I am share with you the process
of creating this unique and innovative dance.
This is an independent dance, based on the foundation stone
underlying the principle of movement and dance
– that is to say dance stems from the principle of movement
change.
The dancer is a person that lives in constant change.
He/she is a sensitive artist who trained his emotion system for changes
and the transitions between emotions.
Choreography is the art of creating immense changes.
It enables the dancer to bring change as a form of expression.
One of the effective ways to create a change in dance
is to address the emotions of the dancer.
The choreographer maps out for the dancer a route charged
with changes of emotions.
One of the tools that underlay this change can,
for example, be the music.
Through The Awakening King,
Leontes of Shakespeare's Winter's Tale,
a shape is given to a dramatic figure with a lot of conflicting emotions.
The dance created through this method is innovative
and its principles are of the motion.
It is about a new approach - bold,
unique and revolutionary in terms of the art of dance.
Yaron Margolin is the founder of this independent dance.

Leontes, King of Sicily in Shakespeare’s
“A Winter's Tale”,
has banished his beloved wife Hermione
from his life due to destructive fantasies,
jealousy, and moments of insanity and self-righteous rage.
In his later years he is awakened, all at once,
much like Hermione, his queen, daughter of the Russian Czar.
He is restored to the days of his youth.

In January 2014 Yaron Margolin received an invitation
to return to perform after 20 years of retirement from dance.
Nearly 40 years ago, he developed a unique dance technique
that includes therapy with acupressure,
largely unheard of at that time.
The pressure method has proved to be an extraordinary way
of developing flexibility which erases the effects of aging,
and an aid in healing many pains.
Today, his work as a therapist and healer,
Yaron Margolin helps thousands to create healthier,
richer lives.

The invitation to return to dance came from Jody Kaplan
founder of the BOOKING DANCE FESTIVAL
It was the moment to prove the strength
and rare quality of his method.

This video will show, among other things,
how Margolin pressure method eliminates
the limitations of aging - and makes him into an ageless person
(Margolin was born in 1954),
a virtuoso dancer, able to dance Leontes effortlessly.


The World premiere will be on the 9th of January 2015,
at Lincoln Center at "The Booking Dance Festival"
in New York City.
