In the past few months I have been working on a new exhibition for Haifa National Maritime Museum. conducted with the support and cooperation of IMMRAC (Israel Marine Mammal Research & Assistance Center) . This Cuvier's beaked whale skeleton will be the main exhibit of Israel's most diverse whale skeleton exhibition ever established.
One of 12 Species of Cetaceans that will be featured in this exhibition.
The Cuvier’s beaked whale (Ziphius cavirostris) is remarkable for its beak-like snout and unique suction feeding, used to capture squid and fish in deep waters. Known as the world’s deepest-diving mammal, it can reach depths over 3,000 meters and stay submerged for more than 3 hours, showcasing incredible adaptations to life in the ocean’s depths.
