The K40 relay unit is a common failure point in older Mercedes models, causing starting issues, misfires, and electrical faults. After searching for the best deal, I discovered that Autodoc is the only place selling a proper replacement unit. Instead of the factory Mercedes part A 210 540 0072, I replaced it with a Meyle 014 830 0010—a high-quality alternative at a fraction of the cost.
After installing the new unit, I took the SLK 230 for a test drive to confirm that the problem was fully resolved. Success! The car now runs perfectly again.
