A children’s sermon, in our homeschool coop liturgy. Not just for young children! We believe that a lot of the Gospel is easy to understand, and a child can understand it if things are explained, and “big words” are defined. We do not talk down to the children. We try to do a simple exegesis of the Scripture, applying it as always to our moral lives. Scripture is useless to us if we just know it but don’t change because of the knowledge. We talk about the parable of the hundred sheep, and the lost coin, and also, since it is the feast day for St. Gregory of Neo-Caesarea (Nov 17/30), the Gospel, which talks about the sending of the 12 apostles, to heal and preach on their own. If our children hear the Gospel taught several times, perhaps they will develop a lifelong love for it and will read it to the end of their lives and they will become would become holy and fulfill their purpose in life.

08 – 1:28 A typical “rant” that every parent should take to heart! The reason I teach the Gospel to children (not from the “Action Bible”!) and the goals of this teaching. Every parent should have these goals. And about the necessity for children to learn to pray.
28 – 4:19 Explanation of what a “tax collector” is. And the *most important * lesson we must learn about the tax collectors coming to Jesus, and the response of the important Jewish teachers. And the reason for the parable about the sheep and the lost coin.
20 – 8:26 “What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. 7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:4-6
26 - 9:46 “Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? 9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbors together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. 10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth” Luke 15:8-10
50 – 14:07 After Jesus Called to Himself His 12 disciples, He gave them authority…
