My brother and I used a Brownie movie camera to capture our hometown life in the 1960s. This digitized 8mm film from Boyne City, Michigan captures authentic hometown life during the summer of 1962. It may be the only film capturing the original Boyne City Little League Field and Boyne City's fourth year having a Little League franchise.
The footage includes Little League baseball, neighborhood storefronts, family homes, and the quiet rhythm of small-town Michigan in the early 1960s.
Presented as a visual music piece, this film is set to the original composition “Scenes They Once Saw” by Atwood Souvenir. The soundtrack was created to preserve the emotional tone of the era while honoring the historic imagery.
This is not a reenactment. It is original archival footage, restored and shared for preservation and viewing.
