Asynt are pleased to offer a useful Tube-In-Plate (TIP) Reactor with replaceable tubing, ideal for synthetic flow chemistry experiments requiring efficient heat transfer.
Glass static mixer/reactor blocks with narrow internal channels are effective flow reactors that provide highly efficient heat transfer which is attributable to their large surface area. However, they are challenging to manufacture which is reflected in their cost and can be tricky to handle when it comes to blocking or contamination.
Cost-effective Tube-in-plate Reactor with replaceable tubing:
To address these issues, Asynt introduced the Tube-In-Plate reactor concept whereby narrow-bore, replaceable perfluoropolymer tubing is embedded in channels cut into an aluminium block. To help stabilise the internal temperature but retain visibility, the tubing is covered with a glass plate.
In addition to providing a more cost-effective and safe solution, the Tube-In-Plate Reactor also negates the common blockage and cleaning of channels that users can experience when using GSMs. The glass cover-plate and tubing can be easily removed and the tubing replaced – should it become blocked or contaminated.
