EXOTIC MATA MATA TURTLE RESCUE AND FEEDING!

Описание: I was called to rescue a space turtle! It is one of the most eye catching, out of this world, species of turtle I've ever seen! But, I didn't have an aquatic turtle habitat setup in my fish room like my buddy Joey Slay Em does!

It was due to some unfortunate situations, that I ended up receiving a phone call the other day from the reptile legend himself, Mr Bob Hammond. Bob explained to me the situation on the phone, and asked me if I liked the mata mata turtle?

I told Bob that I had been fascinated by the matamata my entire reptile keeping life! And that I had just filmed some during a fish room tour at blakes exotic animal ranch a few months ago! He said, ''Well we got a rescue situation on our hands here Tanner!''

The turtle was given to a friend as a gift. He had brought it home to get the turtle's housing set up. He put it inside a bucket. And long story short, before he could get his own king of diy setup going on, he passed away. The mata mata turtle was still inside the bucket!

Upon being found, still inside the bucket, Bob was notified. He received the turtle back, as he was the one that bought the turtle, as a gift, in the first place. But, Bob did not have an adequate setup for a freshwater turtle.

That left me scrambling these past few days, in an attempt to get everything I needed for the mata mata to survive! I got a new 40 gallon turtle habitat aquarium, I bought a new aquarium heater, the kit came with a double dome light, with one halogen basking bulb, and one uvb bulb, I ordered a new led light, and I got all kinds of stuff on the way!

I was reading some turtle care facts on the mata mata, and I read that they prefer their water temperature inside their tank between eighty, and ninety degrees. The information also said that they prefer a softer substrate. Therefore, I ordered sixty pounds of sand to put inside the new aquarium.

Inside this video, I take you throughout the diy turtle tank setup, going and picking up the new turtle, and I was able get you some amazing footage of the mata mata eating some fresh fish, live shiners!
