1:55:22: answer to two random questions+ by Group B candidates
2:19:37: closing statements from all candidates
*Three core questions are:
1. The pace of development in Langford has emerged as a key issue for this election. What is your vision for sustainable growth in Langford?
2. What actions do you believe the City of Langford can take to attract more family doctors and urgent care centres given the shortage of health care professionals province-wide?
3. How will you balance the needs and wants of residents for infrastructure and service improvements with ensuring a balanced budget and keeping taxes low?
+Randomly selected questions are:
1. What steps would you take to improve access to arts and cultural opportunities in the West Shore?
2. If elected, how will you meaningfully engage with the various communities in Langford, including young voters and marginalized groups?
3. Recruiting and retaining top talent at all levels of an organization seems to be a very common theme among businesses in the West Shore. In addition to affordability and health care, people are looking for robust community services such as childcare options, youth engagement programs, after-school programs, and family support programs. What can we do as a community of leaders to add such beneficial recruitment and retention features to our regional "offering" for workers?
4. Where do you stand on the E&N railway reimplementation?
5. What single emerging issue do you foresee in Langford's near future that you would tackle if you were elected? How would you go about solving/mitigating this issue?
6. What are your views on current remuneration for Mayor and Council?
7. If elected, what would you do to address the challenge of traffic congestion in Langford?
8. Both average home purchase and rental costs are high across the region. How do you propose to bring more affordable housing to Langford?
9. If there is one thing you could accomplish if you were elected or re-elected that would make a substantive difference in the lives of Langford citizens, what would it be?
10. What actions would you support to address climate change?
