One of the most difficult topics to address as a parent is the amount of dependence we should "allow" for our children.

I think that most of us would agree that children under the age of three can be almost entirely dependent without a lot of consequences, but that, once they reach three and four, we need to begin pushing them towards some independence.

Here, Dr. Gabor suggests that independence is something we may not need to worry about stating that "we don't have to push it" and that it will come about naturally.
