'Aiming TOP1 in the world!" Chile builds up electric bus fleet, adding more than 300 in Santiago

Описание: Chilean President Gabriel Boric launched more than 300 new electric buses in Santiago on Tuesday.

In 2017 there were only two electric buses in the city, according to President Boric this number will reach 4000 by 2026.

According to the head of the Metropolitan transport hub a decade ago buses in the city caused 30% of emissions, with this number reduced to 3%.

"These are 308 new buses that will be added to the Red fleet in the coming weeks and are part of the 1800 that will begin to operate, to travel the streets of the capital between now and March 2026. (Transport) Minister Muñoz said Santiago is the city in the world outside China, with more electric buses and today we are an international reference, not only in Latin America, but also in the world." said Boric.
