I spend several weeks anchored off of the Deltaville Boatyard waiting for two new sails to arrive from New Zealand. Saturday, October 26 brings a decent weather forecast to head south to Hampton, Virginia, which will be my departure point for Key West. But there is no wind anywhere near Jackson Creek, and I end up sculling the boat all the way out of the channel. A pleasant sail ensues once out into the Chesapeake Bay, though I have to negotiate a narrow, crowded anchorage at the end of it.
