Rupert outlines the natural history of scopaesthesia, experienced by more than 90% of the population, including children, which is also widespread among non-human animals. He discusses its implications for theories of vision and the ideas about the extended mind, the mind beyond the brain. He shows how major unanswered questions could be answered through further research, much of which could be done quite simply and cheaply.
