In Ukraine's first war crimes trial of the war in Kyiv, Kateryna Shelipova confronted on May 19 the Russian soldier who killed her husband. Sergeant Vadim Shishimarin has pleaded guilty to shooting 62-year-old civilian Oleksandr Shelipov early in Russia’s invasion in the village of Chupakhivka.
