Baby Dylan was never given a fair chance at life. He was brought into this world addicted to drugs, and the two people who were supposed to cherish him and keep him safe, did nothing but bring him pain, and end his life before it even had a chance to begin. When parents fail their children, it is Children's Services who is supposed to be the voice for these babies who cannot speak. Unfortunately, they also failed Baby Dylan in this case.

We see it all the time. We MUST remember these babies, for they did not die in vain. We MUST continue to advocate for children all over the world to be given the opportunity to flourish and grow in the best environment possible.

The Children are our future and we have an obligation as a society to treat them as such.

We will never forget Baby Dylan Groves, and until all children have a warm, safe place to sleep every night, we will never stop saying his name.

Day One of the Jessica & Daniel Groves Trial

Things are off to a slow start on the first day of the trial, we first see the motions hearing then onto the witness testimonies. Two nurses from the Maternity Ward at Southern Ohio Medical Center were the first to testify; Darienne Liles and Tori Howell. Next on the stand is Kristin Procter-Frantz, a social worker at Southern Ohio Medical Center. We then see Amanda Burchett, she is the manager of the social services program at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Next, is Stephanie Jenkins, an employee of Scioto County Help-Me-Grow. Last on the stand today, is the wonderful Ms. Patricia Craft of the Scioto County Children's Services, who objected to her image being used for the media. (Perhaps she knows she's at fault and doesn't want anyone to beat her and dump her body down a well like she allowed to happen to poor Baby Dylan? Or am I reading too much into it? Let me know what you think!) Due to a mix-up of evidence, the ending of Day One was delayed and we will pick up Ms. Craft's testimony on Day Two after Dr. Darren Adams gives his testimony first thing in the morning.
