Project 2025: Rebuilding A Silver Birch Bonsai Tree

Описание: Late winter/early spring is a good time to take stock of your bonsai trees and make plans for the designs and shaping of your trees for the coming growing season.

Join me as I take some major design decisions and a new direction for a silver birch bonsai tree which has suffered major die-back. I explain and demonstrate the principles behind performing a severe trunk chop and regrowing the branches and canopy from scratch over future growing seasons.

Don’t be afraid to change plan or direction with the design of your bonsai trees.
They are a living, growing work of art, so adapt your plans accordingly and to work with what the tree gives you.

And remember that we are planning not just for this year, but building a foundation for future years of bonsai development and refinement.
