How To Make An Outdoor Cinema Screen

Firstly, head Bunnings and pick these items:

2 Lengths at 3.0m of Holmans 20mm PVC Pressure Pipe
1 Length at 1.0m of Holmans 20mm PVC Pressure Pipe
8 Holmans 20mm Plain Tee Attachments
2 Holmans 20mm Elbow Attachments
Hacksaw
10 Craftright 50mm Nylon Spring Clamps

With your first length of 3.0 PVC piping, cut a length to approximately 1935mm and insert the Elbow attachments on each end, this will be your TOP RAIL.
Place your off-cut aside (this will be used to make the LEGS).

Next, cut the two remaining 3.0m lengths at 1700mm to make your SIDE RAILS and insert into the Elbow of each end of the TOP RAIL.
Then using two of your Tee Attachments, insert at each end of the SIDE RAILS so that they face inwards.

Now with your two SIDE RAIL offcuts, cut two lengths at 950mm (keep these offcuts for your FEET) to make your BOTTOM RAILS and attach to both ends of the SIDE RAILS. There will be a gap in the middle of your BOTTOM RAIL to allow room for your Tee Attachment to join both of the BOTTOM RAILS together and create a join for the LEGS.

Using your TOP RAIL off-cut, cut 3 pieces at 200mm to make your LEGS and attach to the Tee Attachments on the BOTTOM RAILS, then insert the remaining Tee Attachments to the ends of the LEGS.


To make your FEET cut 4 lengths from your 1m PVC Piping into 250mm pieces and insert into each end of the Tee Attachments along with your offcuts from the BOTTOM RAIL.

You can now stand your frame.

Using a Queen Size Bed Sheet, drape over the TOP RAIL.
With the sheet hanging on the frame, tuck the sheet in on the corners and hold in place with your Clamps, the goal is to make it as neat and tight as possible. Once all four corners are done, use your remaining Clamps to tuck in any extra slack of the sheet along the rails and move the Screen into place.

Finally, now that your Screen is in situated, place some weights on the FEET to secure.

Now your ready for your Outdoor Movie Night!!
