Georgian Civil War - Every Day (1989-93)

Описание: The Georgian Civil War was a conflict between Zviadists, the Georgian Opposition, and Georgian forces against Abkhazian and South Ossetian militias in a classic complex civil conflict in the aftermath of the dissolution of the Soviet Union, beginning with demonstrations against the Soviet Union, all the way to the foundation of Eduard Shevardnadze's regime. Zviad Gamsakhurdia became the first president of Georgia after help lead the Independence movement but became increasingly dictatorial, Opposition leaders including the Reconcilators lead demonstrations and later a coup d'etat against the dictator, Zviad would be backed by Chechnya and UNA-UNSO and various uprisings against the new regime. South Ossetian Militias would clash with both the Zviad regime and the Eduard regime while Abkhaz Militias clashed with Georgian forces associated with the Eduard regime, all sides conducted either ethnic cleansing, genocide and large-scale atrocities amongst one another. Russia virtually backed all sides, giving weapons and using Russian forces neutrally by trying to influence whatever government would help in Russia's strategic interests in it's new position, now no longer a Superpower on the world stage.
