UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan slammed the attacks, with his diplomatic advisor Anwar Gargash warning Iran that its aggression against Gulf states was a dangerous miscalculation that has isolated the Islamic Republic at a critical moment. Iranian missiles struck the Al Dharfa US military base in Abu Dhabi, while Dubai, a major global commercial hub that hosts no US military presence, was also targeted. Five major blasts shook the city, the Dubai International Airport sustained damage causing widespread flight disruptions, and the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel was severely damaged. A fire also broke out near Palm Jumeirah Island.

The strikes extended beyond the UAE, with blasts reported in Doha, Qatar, and Oman being hit for the first time, as Iran's retaliatory campaign against Gulf states hosting US bases continued to widen dangerously.
