You obtain personal right to that souvenir plot and the permission to use their registered trademarks Lord or Lady of Glencoe. How is this possible?
According to the Scottish law and tradition, every landowner in Scotland has the right to call himself lord or lady for a woman. The word lord simply means "landowner" (landlord). Who gives you the certificate that you have the right to this honorary title?
In many countries certain institutions are registered that can issue honorary titles for achievements, such as the Honorary Doctor of Science, the Honorary Citizen of Boston, etc. In Scotland, park management is registered for that.
That is why they give the honorable title to anyone who buys even the smallest plot.
