I finally had the opportunity to sit down with Asalie Peseyie — founder of Shout Out Media, host of The Shoutout Podcast, and an entrepreneur here in Nagaland. This conversation gave me the chance to really see the heart behind everything he does; the why behind the work.

We talked about so much — the things we have in common growing up in a boarding school, discipline and independence, about how those early experiences shape who we become as adults. About building as creatives in Nagaland, about the challenges and the hope of building something meaningful here. We also touched on the realities our people face and the weight of the real Naga issues.

Asalie opened up about his journey with God, how his understanding of faith has evolved over the years, and how it continues to guide him through life, work, and fatherhood. We talked about family, our relationships with our parents, especially our fathers.

What made this conversation so special was how naturally it flowed. Two people from different generations who’ve walked similar roads, reflecting on what it means to build, belong, and believe in something bigger than ourselves. There’s nostalgia, honesty, and a lot of heart in this one.
