you, me, a van - Alaska road trip?

Описание: 🚐 Alaska called... and we answered in miles!

After a 10-day / 1,400+ mile road trip on the Alaska Highway (aka, the AlCan Highway), we couldn’t just stop at Alaska – we needed to go deeper!

We did a lot of road tripping throughout Alaska during the month we spent there, but here are the stops we recommend on this particular leg we did.

🏔️ Denali National Park:
Come for the elusive Denali,
but be sure to spend time with the famous Alaskan Husky canine rangers!

😋 Talkeetna:
A great little walkable town, but we came specifically to stop at the highly recommended Talkeetna Spinach Bread food truck. You should too - you’ll thank us later!

🫎 Anchorage:
Can’t say there’s anywhere else with a “Moose Loop Trail,” where you can ride tandem bikes, walk, jog, skate, etc., and likely need to stop to let moose (and bears!) cross the path.

Kenai Peninsula:
🦅 Anchor Point:
Smoking hot tip 🔥 - we went to Anchor Point after hearing it is the westernmost point on the continuous North American highway system. As far west as we can drive, fun right? But what we got was a legit NatGeo experience with countless bald eagles on the beach! It was insane to be so close to them, watching them fish and just be wild!

🏞️ Exit Glacier/Kenai Fjords National Park:
Seward is another very popular stop in the Kenai Peninsula, but tbh we didn’t spend a lot of time in town. What we did focus on though was hiking to Exit Glacier at Kenai Fjords NP. You can get incredible views of it both from near the toe, and from up above it!

And we saved our favorite for last...
🐋 Valdez:
A wonderful and charming fishing town with lots of history, and you need to do a glacier and wildlife cruise there. Trust, you won’t regret it. Also, head over to the Solomon Gulch Fish Hatchery to watch sea lions fish for their dinner - and if you’re lucky, bears too!
