🎤 Live recording at International Tuba and Euphonium Conference - ITEC Spain 2025 held in Valencia.

🎼 Cubes is a suite of five short pieces that reflect the impression made on the author by some of the most famous pictures of the Spanish painter Pablo Ruiz Picasso, the greatest exponent of 20th century cubism.

The works, belonging to different creative periods of the artist, depict scenes as varied as bathers on the beach, ladies in a brothel, a bullfighter being caught in a bullfight, an iconic and strange dance and the bombing of the city of Guernica by the Nazis.

With these small musical pieces, the pictures of the great painter from Malaga are reborn by the hand of a quartet of tubas, low brass instruments that perfectly combine conventional sounds with sound effects produced with extended techniques so appropriate for this work.
