Charlie Hough guest instructed Knuckleball Nation's Los Angeles Clinic on January 14th, 2024. Hough pitched 24 years in the Major Leagues throwing the knuckleball for the Dodgers, White Sox, Rangers and Marlins; throwing the first pitch in Marlins' franchise history; a knuckleball that clipped the inside corner.
He served as Major League Pitching Coach for six seasons with the Mets and Dodgers. Kenley Jansen often says that Charlie saved his career, and RA Dickey gives Hough a lot of credit for his Cy Young Award.
Here, he works with 15-year-old Maxton from Westlake Village, California. He slows him down, stresses the important of balance, asks him to throw a straight fastball and sees a bright future for the young pitcher.
