Phil Collins is a British singer, songwriter, drummer, and music producer, born in 1951. He first became known as the drummer and later the lead vocalist of Genesis, one of the most influential progressive rock bands of the 1970s. In the 1980s, he built a hugely successful solo career, marked by hits such as In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. His distinctive voice, talent as a multi-instrumentalist, and ability to compose both ballads and pop songs made him one of the world’s most popular artists.
