every time we react to an older song, the comments say the same thing. why didn’t you watch the unplugged version? so here we are diving into nirvana’s legendary mtv unplugged performance.

even though we know a lot of nirvana’s classic hits, this unplugged setting makes it feel brand new. stripped back, intimate, just kurt cobain and the band letting the song breathe in a completely different way than a studio version.

we also learned that where did you sleep last night is actually a traditional american folk song, which made the performance even more interesting. seeing nirvana reinterpret a song with roots going back to the 1800s adds a whole new layer to it.

there is something about mtv unplugged performances that just feel different. you get the banter, the atmosphere, the raw vocal delivery, and a closer look at the artist in real time.
