It’s been over 6 years since I last played New Super Mario Bros. DS, and coming back to it honestly hit me with a wave of nostalgia I wasn’t expecting. This was the game my brother and I used to play all the time — especially the VS mode and minigames. And I’m not gonna lie… I was losing 24/7. He destroyed me every single match, and he loved rubbing it in. But those were some of the best memories we had growing up.
Booting up the game again felt like stepping right back into those days. The classic music, the bright levels, the power-ups — everything just clicked instantly. Even though it’s been years, I still remembered little secrets, hidden blocks, and goofy moments we used to laugh about.
Playing it now really reminded me why this game meant so much to me. It wasn’t just about beating levels — it was about those fun, competitive moments with my brother that I didn’t realize I missed this much. It’s crazy how a simple DS game can bring all that back.
