Cliff is a former Marine with over 20 years of military service, including 12 years on active duty as a reconnaissance team leader with deployments to Somalia and Iraq. After his military service, Cliff joined the LAPD, working across patrol, gangs, and narcotics divisions, which further sharpened his tactical expertise.

Now a respected instructor in combatives and tactical training, Cliff specializes in Tactical Catch Wrestling, a system he teaches at the Combatives Summit. This unique method combines pinning and riding techniques with weapon-based situational awareness, offering a practical edge for self-defense and law enforcement.

A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, Cliff also holds certifications as an LAPD Arrest & Control Instructor, Tactical Ground Combatives Instructor, and Red Zone Weapons Defense/Adaptive Striking Instructor. With training in martial arts like Tang Soo Do, Kung Fu San Soo, and Krav Maga, Cliff’s depth of knowledge ensures his students are equipped for high-stress, real-world encounters.
