Prime Minister Robina Nabbanja has instructed businessman Hamis Kiggundu to open additional culverts to divert large volumes of water into the Nakivubo Channel, aiming to alleviate flooding in downtown Kampala. She stated that the current number of culverts is insufficient, as indicated by engineers, and that this was a contributing factor to the extensive flooding that occurred last week in downtown Kampala. The flooding resulted in significant damage to goods valued at millions of shillings.
