Join me on a DIY adventure to Beitou and Yangmingshan using only MRT, commuter buses, and a lot of walking! 🌿♨️ No tour package — just pure exploration and public transport experience.
First stop: Beitou Thermal Valley — also known as “Hell Valley.” Experience the dramatic steaming hot spring waters, strong sulfur smell, and surreal volcanic landscape right in the heart of Taipei.
Next, we head up to Yangmingshan National Park, one of Taiwan’s most famous nature escapes. I explore the geothermal area of Xiaoyoukeng, where you can see steaming vents, sulfur crystals, and bubbling fumaroles up close!
From there, I continue to Qingtiangang, a wide open grassland with scenic rolling hills and grazing cattle — perfect for relaxing walks and panoramic mountain views.
To end the day, I walk down to Lengshuikeng Public Bath for a well-deserved soak in the public hot spring bath — the perfect way to relax after a full day of hiking and commuting.
