Back story:

At the beginning of the clip, Korra is returning to Republic City. She is then captured and as she comes to, Amon is there to greet her. He begins to tell her a story of a Water Tribe boy who fell for Water Tribe girl. This story was his. And his love for Korra.

Long ago, Korra knew Noatak ( Amon ). They were once lovers. There was plenty of arguments to end it but nothing stopped them. They would always find their ways back to each other.
Though over time, Noatak stopped giving her the attention and love she needed ( this was later on in their years ). Korra ended up cheating on him and falling for Bolin.
When Noatak found out, he was extremely mad and they had a physical argument.
They broke up and Korra moved back to the South Pole. Noatak became bad and went under the name of Amon, leading the Equalist revolution.

A few months had passed and Korra came back to Republic City. In which all of at the beginning of the clip, before going to Amon's past, that happens.
Generally it's all one big flash back of Amon's memories. At the end, I would assume he asked Korra to remember the past. In which, his voice jogs her memories causing a flash back for her. Bringing them back together. :3
