Foundational Thoughts
1. Marriage is of God, it is not a societal construct
2. Marriage is for biologically male and female individuals
3. Marriage by design is forever
4. Marriage is for one man and his wife
5. Marriage is a covenant not a contract

Fear is never of God; it an either be of facts or falsity

1John 4:18

God does not want us to approach marriage from a fear standpoint

Three major Marital fears
1. The fear of making a wrong choice
The success of a marriage does not come in finding the right person but in the ability of both partners to adjust to the real person they inevitably married.
A major determinant of the health of a marriage is hardness of heart.

2. The fear of commitment
Healthy marriages require a forever commitment

3. The fear of vulnerability
To be vulnerable, you must have the readiness and willingness to show your authentic self even when you don’t know everything yet
You must be willing to give and receive vulnerability
