Ch 23: The Account of Bodhisattva Medicine King’s Past Lives - 《The Wonderful Dharma Lotus Sūtra》

Описание: In Chapter 23, the Buddha tells the story of the past lives of Bodhisattva Medicine King and the difficult ascetic practices he cultivated. For example, in order to seek unsurpassed wisdom, Bodhisattva Medicine King at different times burned his arms and his body as offerings to the Dharma Lotus Sūtra, to the Buddha who explained the sūtra for him, and to that Buddha’s śarīra. Throughout his past lives, Bodhisattva Medicine King has in the same way made countless billions of koṭis of nayutas of gifts of his own body. This chapter also describes teaching the Dharma Lotus Sūtra to others as well as the merit of upholding it, and encourages its propagation.
