Upon arrival at Hazuri Bagh, President Pezeshkian, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and the accompanying delegation received a warm welcome.
Key roads from Lahore Airport to the mausoleum were adorned with welcome banners.
At the mausoleum, a smartly turned-out contingent of Punjab Rangers presented a ceremonial salute.
President Pezeshkian entered the mausoleum under the escort of Punjab Rangers.
He laid floral wreaths at the grave of Allama Iqbal and paid tribute to the Poet of the East, with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif standing by his side.
Prayers and Fatiha Khwani were offered by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
President Pezeshkian recorded his sentiments in the visitors’ book.
A group photograph was taken of the Iranian delegation with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The Chief Minister saw off the President and his delegation at Lahore Airport with due protocol.
