you have changed my world with just one smile
you have made the simple things worthwhile
you can turn everything inside out
you can steal my heart without a doubt
you have stunned me with a single glance
you have got me thinking bout romance
you can keep me hanging on like this
so you can send me drifting in the abyss
I want you, do you want me to
but for me you'll never even have the time
I need you, even if you need me too
there'd me a million in a line
you have opened up a door in my mind
you have given me new worlds to find
and you can make me burn with such desire
you can melt me from love's raging fire
I love you, and heaven knows I do
yet I'll never have the chance to feel your touch
I miss you though there's no reason to
cause you don't even know that I exist
do you feel me in your sleep
can you see me in your most clandestine dreams
my thoughts compelling you to wake
and notice me, please please please cause...
In this song, I sought to channel the profound yearning and hope that comes from imagining a connection with a "divine counterpart"—a person who feels destined, someone you haven’t yet met but somehow know is meant to be part of your life. The lyrics are a reflection of that unique kind of longing that fills the spaces between reality and possibility, a longing that feels as if it transcends the present moment and reaches into the future.
I wrote this song at a time when I was immersed in the idea of fate, destiny, and the idea that true love exists not just as a random occurrence but as something almost written in the stars. I wanted to create an emotional atmosphere where the listener could feel that longing, that sense of anticipation, without yet knowing what was to come. The notion of "conjuring" is key here—it’s the idea of calling something into existence before it materializes, hoping and believing that the universe will respond in kind.
The lyrics reflect this feeling of unfulfilled yearning—"you have stunned me with a single glance" and "I miss you though there's no reason to"—they convey the sensation of falling for someone who may not even know you exist yet, but whose presence feels almost inevitable. The notion of "conjuring" isn't just about wishing or hoping; it's about summoning the energy, the feelings, and the belief that this person, this divine counterpart, is somewhere out there, waiting to be discovered.
The second half of the song explores the more vulnerable side of longing: the awareness that love might never be returned, or that this person might not even see you in the way you want them to. But even in that, there’s a sense of beauty—a bittersweet recognition that love, even unrequited, can still fill you with profound emotion. The lines "do you feel me in your sleep" and "can you see me in your most clandestine dreams" capture that feeling of trying to reach someone on a spiritual or emotional level, beyond physical reality.
Ultimately, this song is a celebration of that intense, yet unspoken, connection between two souls—one still waiting to meet the other, yet already feeling intertwined with them in some profound way. It is both a song of desire and a song of faith, trusting that the path will unfold as it is meant to, even if we can’t see the entire journey just yet.
At the end I kept a clip of a key moment when intense love was felt during the word 'love' being sung, causing the electricity to go haywire during that crucial moment. It was combined after having just felt a shock of love pulse through me like a lightning bolt of bliss. I know and you know. Just watch and wait. Divine plans call for divine timing.
