Camcorder or DSLR. Today we hear talk of that "Cinematic" look whenever folks talk about doing videos. While the look is certainly great, the gear required can be quite pricey and unless you are filming movies for a living, do everything you shoot have to have that cinematic look? I recently decided to get a camcorder for an all in one sort of setup. So here is my test of the Panasonic HC-X1, this video was done with the camera setting on auto and the results look pretty good, straight out of the box. I'll shot some more videos in the the other modes to to see what this is really capable of. For now, enjoy this first video with an oldie but still a good performer, HC-X1.
I should note that my plan was to get the Panasonic X1500, which was released this year but it was out of stock everywhere and on back order. That unit has has a lot of the features of this camera with a little extra however, this one has the larger 1" sensor and is larger overall. Let me know what you think of the video and any advice you have on how to get the best out of this unit.
