Dark and Darker – Early Access Hotfix #110
New Update Overview

This update introduces the Workshop system, allowing players to scrap unwanted weapons and armor into materials that can be used to enhance, rebuild, or craft new gear. The Workshop launches with the Weaponsmith Forge, Armory Smithy, Leathershop, and Tailory, with more expansions planned in future updates.

The Weapon Skin system is also now live, featuring the first set of “Emberflame” skins, adding fiery visual effects to select weapons. More skins and weapon support will be added later.

Additional updates include:

New and discounted shop items

Voice preview added to emotes in the Customize menu

Dungeon Express improvements for faster item delivery when leaving dungeons early

Fire Colossus difficulty adjustments

New Honored Scribe’s Quill Torch cosmetic

Balance Changes

General

Crafting accessories now requires fewer ingredients

Troll Pelt drop rate adjusted

Gold Coin Bag drop chance increased

Class Adjustments

Fighter: Fortified Ground attributes reduced (5 → 3)

Rogue: Thrust armor penetration reduced (25% → 20%)

Barbarian: Reckless Attack armor penetration penalty reduced; armor penalty increased

Wizard: Multiple damage nerfs including Fireball, Zap, Explosion, and Magic Missile; burn and melt durations reduced

Druid: Dreamwalk duration reduced; Nature’s Touch and Restore scaling reduced but duration increased

Items & Weapons

Reduced oversized defensive hitboxes on some weapons

Shields now grant stronger movement speed bonuses after blocks

Bow armor penetration reduced

Longbow damage slightly reduced

Rapier/Cutlass counterattack damage lowered

Daggers armor penetration reduced

Icefang armor penetration reduced

Bug Fixes
Numerous fixes including:

Combat and guarding issues when switching items

Movement speed bugs while crouching or double jumping

Fighter Disarm hit detection

Missing Sorcerer burn damage display

Sound effects for certain transformations

Portal and dungeon interaction bugs

Enemy spawn rate and VFX issues

Boss and monster collision problems

Weapon UI display errors

Arena leaver penalty incorrectly applying

Developer Notes
The Workshop is designed to give more value to unwanted gear and help stabilize the in-game economy. The new Emberflame weapon skins are the first of many planned cosmetics.

Also, the Valentine event is ending soon, so make sure to spend any remaining rewards before the next hotfix.
