Genesis 26 shows Isaac reopening the wells his father Abraham dug—wells that symbolized God’s blessing, provision, and legacy. Just as the Philistines filled those wells with dirt, life can fill our “spiritual wells” with pain, disappointment, distraction, shame, and fear. These things bury our joy, faith, and purpose—but the well itself is never destroyed.
God told Isaac to stay in a difficult place and promised to bless him there. Isaac obeyed, reopened the old wells, and dug new ones. After conflict over the first two, the third well—Rehoboth—represented a place where God makes room and brings fruitfulness.
