Emergency bivvy bag survival challenge! I spend a 5°F/-15°C night alone in a hollow tree with only an emergency bivvy bag for warmth--no tent, no sleeping bag, and no fire.
After a big snowstorm, I hike into the woods to spend the night alone in a tree trunk, cooking a delicious meal and then testing whether I can survive a frigid night of single digit temperatures and sub-zero wind chill using only a bivvy bag for warmth. This is my riskiest and most nerve-wracking camping trip yet, as I determine how well emergency bivvy bags can handle temperatures near 0° Fahrenheit/-18° Celsius.
