Sydney Marathon 2025

Описание: These are my views as I ran the 2025 Sydney Marathon. I had a front row seat to the best marathoners in the world running right past me as 2 sections of the route ran parallel to each other. At the 18-19k mark on another out-and-back, I was able to see Ashley from iFit, with her camera crew, about 0.5k behind me.

Starting in North Sydney, crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, running through Centennial Park, and finishing at the Sydney Opera House, this shows what the marathon route looked like during the very first time that the Sydney Marathon was officially the 7th Major Marathon.

I am now honored to be a 7 Star finisher. This was also my 91st marathon.

‘Twas the night before Sydney
And all through the route
All the runners were dreaming
Of their run with a doubt.

Was their training sufficient?
Will it bring them the glory?
Will their stride be efficient
And add to their story?

Will they trip and go “Smack!”
Or just slip on the street?
Will their ears hear a crack
As their feet tap a beat?

Tomorrow will bring
Many muscles that tighten.
The chafing may sting,
But the run will enlighten.

So I go to bed now
With the worries of wear
As my brain wonders how
I could possibly fare.

Sydney is the 7th Major.
It might just be a real game changer.
Tomorrow is the 6th day til
I’ll need my Last and Living Will.
When 5 days come, my knees will lock.
My muscles may just clamp in shock.
Be4 I take another step,
I’ll puke and croak from having strep,
But as the days wind down to three,
I’ll wrap myself around a tree.
My back will break in two as you
Prepare to wonder if it’s true:
It’s one day til I race once more?
… or limp along til I get sore.

Sydney’s upon us,
And I must confess:
I am in trouble.
I’ll be in the rubble.

Eighteen short miles
Brought me torture and trials.
Two weeks before it,
And I can’t ignore it.

I’ll be crawling the streets.
I’ll be looking for eats.
As the kangaroos laugh,
A koala will graph
The majestic decline
As my pace shows the sign
Of a bird getting shot
Or a hole in a yacht.

The decline of my pace
As I falter the race
Will exhibit my face
As a king-sized disgrace!
