Peter Shotton was a close boyhood friend of John Lennon and a former bandmate of his in The Quarrymen ... and later he befriended the rest of the members of the Beatles.
Shotton also assisted Lennon with the lyrics to "I Am the Walrus" and suggested the storyline that Paul McCartney used for "Eleanor Rigby."
