Adobe Exit Plan - Episode 1 - Leaving Adobe Creative Cloud / Kicking off Series

Описание: I have been using Adobe software since 1997. I started with Photoshop 4, then went on to use most of the tools in what eventually became their Adobe Creative Cloud. Over the past 28 years, I have had a mostly great relationship with the software, but I have decided to switch away from the Creative Cloud software and use cheaper alternatives. It's a tough decision and I don't take it lightly. I have been using alternatives for the past year including Affinity Photo and Davinci Resolve.

As a small YouTube content creator (6K subscribers as of July 2025), I want to help others kickstart their own channels. There are many people who can't afford - or don't want to spend the money - on an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. The costs are rising, too. Just today, I was surprised to see that my renewal price for the Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps plan is going to renew at $69.99 a month. After having spent $8,000 on Adobe Creative Cloud over the years, I have decided that I'm going to say farewell to some of my favorite applications. It's a bit disappointing that Adobe doesn't provide an alternative to their subscription model, and they've taken a lot of heat for their unscrupulous practices of making it difficult to terminate subscriptions. They were sued by the SEC in 2024 and they continue to make it a challenge, while raising their prices.

I don't have ill-will towards Adobe, but it's up to me whether I want to continue supporting a company who doesn't seem to appreciate their customers. After 28 years of being a loyal customer, I have never once received an acknowledgement. That's bad customer service.

If you are fed up with paying these fees and want to learn how to make the transition to cheaper alternatives which don't require a monthly/annual subscription fee, this series is for you. It really doesn't matter if you don't have experience with Adobe. I'm going to start fresh with this new series--so people who haven't used Affinity Photo, Davinci Resolve (and other software tools) will be comfortable.
