Differential line growth on a sphere, implemented in Blender.
The initial graph is a spherical dodecahedron with its points slightly displaced by a noise function. Its vertices then move tangentially to the surface in search of equilibrium, and new vertices are added as edges grow until there is no more space for growth.
The original pentagons are transformed into long, winding curves without intersections.
