Alton Towers' Rita is an Intamin Hydraulic Launch Coaster, some have even suggested the name of the ride backwards spells out Alton Towers Launch Coaster, but that's just a coaster enthusiast theory from back when Rita opened in 2005.
It was originally named Rita - Queen of Speed and shared Ugland with the famous Corkscrew at Alton Towers.
