This trip was one of those days where nothing seemed to be going right. I forgot some equipment in the car, I couldn't find any bait to cast net (and wasted a lot of time trying), and then nothing seemed to want to eat a lure. As a last ditch effort I beached the kayak, flipped some rocks and gathered some mud crabs and thankfully it paid off and made for some good action! I fished them on a Sheep Sticker jig from Bellaire Jigs on the bottom and caught a whole mix of inshore species with the average size being very good. Switching my tactics mid trip definitely saved my fishing trip and got me on a solid bite on a tough day!
