This video has been brewing in the back of my mind for awhile now and after finishing Lies of P and Final Fantasy IX around the same time, I am finally ready to talk about it. The artificial human character trope is such a fascinating topic in fiction to me. But I do think that in some stories, there is a critical component to them that we miss. Because it’s not just about exploring what it is that makes us human, it’s also about watching them be better than their creators. It’s about acceptance, validity, and finding a place to call home.
