PDP LTD Classic Wood Hoop Snare Drum Review by Sweetwater

Описание: Hi everybody, in this video I'm playing the PDP Classic Wood Hoop Snare. It's available in 6" and 7" sizes - for this video I'm playing the 6" depth. Besides looking great, the all-wood design gives this drum a really nice round tone and a great playing feel. And the all-maple wood hoops are incredibly hard, so I'm not worried about damaging over time due to rimshots or missed hits.

The wooden hoops attach to the shell with old-school-style claw hooks. These hooks have felt lining on them to protect the finish of the wood hoop. And while at first I wondered if the hoops would interfere with my playing (because they wrap over the top of the hoop), I quickly found that I didn't even notice they were there.

I dig the MAG Throwoff which makes it very easy to drop the snare wires down. Especially with the snare wires off, this snare drum has a really nice warm, round sound to it when played softly. When you start hitting it harder, you get a nice solid snap that still has a beefy fundamental. It's a great sound that I'd be happy with both in the studio and on stage.
