In this video I show you how I installed a PWM motor control onto my Motorguide R3 55LB thrust trolling motor. This gives me infinitely adjustable speed from 0-100%. Easy and cheapest way to have a digital maximizer trolling motor without spending big bucks on one.
There are a couple things I forgot to mention. Leave the motor in high forward gear all the time, unless you are bypassing the PWM box. There is no need to go in reverse on the handle as the polarity is reversed in the PWM box. One more thing, make sure you get a PWM box big enough to handle your current flow from your battery to the motor or it'll turn into a paper weight.
