How to Set Up Tor → VPN + RDP on Tails OS (VPN.CD Level 4) | vot.sh + Remmina

In this video, you’ll learn how to run VPN.CD Level 4 on Tails OS with a Tor → VPN connection (OpenVPN inside Tor using vot.sh), and then connect to anonymous RDP using Remmina.

1) Prepare Tails

Boot Tails with:

Persistent Storage enabled

Unsafe Browser allowed

Administrator password set

Configure the Persistent Storage features you want to save.

2) Connect to Tor and download VPN keys

Connect to the Tor network.

Using Tor Browser, download your VPN keys.

3) Download vot.sh (Tor → VPN script)

Download the script: https://vpn.cd/vot.sh

Open Downloads, extract the VPN keys archive into a new folder (double-click the archive), and move vot.sh into the same folder.

Open that folder and copy all its contents into the Persistent folder.

4) Rename the correct OpenVPN file

Rename DedicatedVPN*_TCP_443.ovpn** (IMPORTANT: the file that contains _TCP_443) to:

vot.ovpn

5) Run Tor → VPN connection (Console)

Open Console and run:

sudo su
(enter your Tails administrator password)

cd Persistent

chmod +x vot.sh

./vot.sh

Wait until all required packages are installed.

When OpenVPN requests authorization, enter your vpn.cd account email + password.

Wait for the message confirming a successful VPN connection.

6) Important: Tor Browser will stop working

After the VPN connects, Tor Browser will stop working because the VPN becomes its gateway.

To access the internet, use Firefox ESR.

7) Launch Firefox ESR inside vpnuser (for browsing)

Open a new Console window and run:

sudo su (enter admin password)

su vpnuser

firefox-esr

Check your IP address and confirm the VPN is working.

8) Download RDP keys and install Remmina

Download the RDP keys.

Open Downloads and extract the RDP archive into a new folder (double-click).

Open a new Console window and run:

sudo su
(enter the administrator password)

apt install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp -y

Wait until all required packages are installed.

Then run:

su vpnuser

remmina

9) Import the RDP profile and connect

In Remmina menu, choose Import.

Select the file AnonymousRD****.rdp inside:

Home/Downloads/rdp***

Right-click the new connection → Edit → go to Advanced tab.

Set Connection wait time ms to:

60000 (exact value)

Click Save, then double-click the connection to start.

Confirm the certificate prompt and enter the password from pass.txt.

Use Toggle dynamic resolution update to fit the desktop to your monitor.

✅ Tor → VPN + RDP is ready. You may proceed with your work.

Next launches (Tor → VPN + RDP)

Boot Tails with Persistent enabled, Unsafe Browser allowed, Admin password set.

Connect to Tor.

Console: sudo su → cd Persistent → ./vot.sh → authorize.

Open a new Console window: sudo su → su vpnuser → firefox-esr (verify IP).

Download RDP keys, extract them, then: sudo su → apt install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp -y → su vpnuser → remmina → Import → connect.
